January Knits

Finally, getting caught up with my blogging! Here are the projects I finished last month.

Pattern: Dashing, by Cheryl Niamath from Knitty, Spring 2007
Yarn: Cascade 220, 1 skein
Needles: US 7/4.5mm

Pattern: Toasty by Leslie Friend
Yarn: Cascade 220, 1 skein
Needles: US 7/4.5mm

Pattern: Evangeline, by Michelle Szeghalmi
Yarn: Cascade 220, The Heathers, 1 skein
Needles: US 7/4.5 mm

I made these three pair of mitts for the NaKniMitMo knitalong on Ravelry. They were a lot of fun (so quick!) and were also stashbusting projects.

My favorite project for January was the Flower Basket Shawl.

Pattern: Flower Basket Shawl by Evelyn Clark from Interweave Knits Fall 2004
Yarn: Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool, color 32, 3 skeins
Needles: US 10/6.0 mm

I discovered that I love knitting lace with sport/dk weight yarn and large needles. It goes very quickly, and I didn't need to put in a lifeline. I really enjoy wearing this shawl and can't wait to cast on for my next one - the Shetland Triangle.
